Send your WordPress and WooCommerce emails through us

By default WordPress sends its own mail — order confirmations, "new account", password resets — straight from your web host. That mail is usually unsigned, comes from an address nobody recognises, and lands in spam more often than it should. It also leaves no record you can look at.

Our plugin can take that mail over. Same emails, same wording, sent from your verified sending address and recorded under Messages.

Turning it on

  1. Verify a sending domain first — Reputation → Domains. The switch will not turn on until one is verified, because there would be no address to send from.
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to WooCommerce → Amino Engine — Email. It is its own item on the WooCommerce menu, just under Amino Engine.
  3. Find Send WordPress emails through Amino Engine and turn it on.
  4. Tick which kinds of mail to move. It starts with every WooCommerce email, plus New account and Password reset, already ticked. Two are deliberately left off: the copy of "new account" that goes to you, and everything else WordPress sends — which on a real shop is a backup plugin's nightly report and a security plugin's alarms, not customer mail.
  5. Place a test order and check the message appears under Messages here, with a delivery status beside it.

If you want to prove it without placing an order, this is a whole test. It is one line of WordPress's own mail function, so anything that can run a line of PHP on your site will do — a snippet plugin, or your theme's functions file for a minute:

wp_mail(
    'you@yourstore.com',
    'Test from WordPress',
'If this arrives and also shows up under Messages, WordPress mail is going through Amino Engine.'
);

If it arrives and appears in Messages, you are done. If it arrives and Messages shows nothing, WordPress sent it the old way — the list below says why that happens.

What it does not change

You will never lose a receipt

This is the part worth knowing, because it is the fear everybody has about moving their order emails.

If we are unreachable, if the message is refused, if it carries an attachment, or if it is simply enormous, the plugin hands that one message straight back to WordPress and WordPress sends it the old way. It writes one line in its own log saying what happened. It never holds a receipt and it never drops one.

So the worst case is that a message goes out the way it used to.

Two more things it refuses to do, both on purpose:

If it didn't work
